SAMS DACH SAP RISE Contract Governance Networking Berlin
SAMS DACH 2026

On 16 and 17 March 2026 we attend the SAMS DACH congress in Berlin for the first time. SAMS DACH is one of Europe’s leading annual Software Asset Management conferences. Around 500 SAM leads, licence managers and IT procurement professionals from German-speaking Europe gather at Hotel Titanic Chaussee. The conference is regionally branded but the underlying themes around SAP licensing, RISE and SAM tooling are directly relevant for any enterprise SAP customer worldwide.

Why we are there

SAP RISE has fundamentally changed the rules for Software Asset Management. Classic SAM tools and processes are built for named user licences and on-premise metrics. A RISE contract works differently: FUE instead of named user, bundled services, phase transitions, funding allocation, and an ACV that few people actually re-calculate.

The question that drives us: who actually governs a RISE contract after it has been signed?

In most enterprises the honest answer is: no one systematically. Procurement negotiated the contract and moved on. IT runs the implementation. And the SAM team finds that the existing tooling hits its limits on RISE.

Three questions we want to discuss at SAMS

If any of these questions are on your desk right now, we would value the exchange:

  • How do you govern the running cost of your SAP RISE contract? ACV tracking, derived charges, funding allocation: do you have transparency on the actual cost structure?
  • Who validates that the agreed SLAs and services are actually delivered? RISE is a managed service from SAP. But who verifies that you receive what you pay for?
  • Which levers exist before renewal, and when must they be in motion? With contract terms of 5 years and more, the last 18 months decide the conditions of the next period.

What FinOptory does

We govern SAP contracts across the full lifecycle. Across all nine SAP product types, not RISE alone. Software and expertise from one partner. Post-signature governance is the differentiator: not just contract intelligence, but ongoing review cycles with concrete recommendations. Not an implementation project, not another tool in the stack, but a partner who looks after the commercial side of your SAP contracts.

Meet us in Berlin?

I am on site both days, in the sessions, at the roundtables and at the networking event. If you want to schedule a slot in advance, message me on LinkedIn or book a short conversation directly.
